Throughout history, humanity has grappled with its longing for absoluteness, and in effect, immortality - an endless cycle that's been replaying since the dawn of civilization. This relentless pursuit often manifests in conflicts, as individuals commit transgressions against each other in a bid to reach their perceived absolute, leading to a seemingly ceaseless panorama of wars.
This project, imbued with these profound themes, found its impetus in the Russia-Ukraine war, a contemporary manifestation of the aforementioned historic cycle. The inclusion of the Russian ruble serves as a tangible symbol, grounding these abstract concepts in a real-world context.
The use of the oil paint filter in the design is a nod towards the traditional still life paintings, emphasizing the concept that humanity's patterns and behaviors remain unchanged, regardless of the passing of time. This artistic choice also serves as an exploration of the law of heredity, underlining our inherent predispositions carried through generations.
The final design captures the perennial cycle of human ambition and conflict, reflecting the unchanging essence of human nature, despite the changing face of history.
